To earn 5 points using Option 1: Equipment Efficiency, systems must comply with the efficiency requirements outlined in the Core Performance Guide. The CPG lists the full load EER and IPLV for unitary AC. Does the equipment have to comply with both the min EER value and the min IPLV or just one? We have a unit that complies with the IPLV but not the full load EER. The CEE website states that... "Initiative Participants have the option to promote the full-load metric or part-load metric or both metrics in this specification as the basis..." The reference guide nor the CPG specify if one or both criteria need to be statisfied.

The Core Performance Standards are typically all or nothing. They must be met fully. These values can be recalcuated if the equipment is not operating under standard operating conditions according to the test procedure cited in 90.1 AHRI 550/590. These values and the calculations can be found in Tables 6.8.1H -J. CEE?

Thanks Marcus. CEE is the Consortium for Energy Efficiency. It is the source used by the Core Performance Guide Table 2.9.1, http://www.cee1.org/com/hecac/hecac-main.php3. In fact CEE has updated their specs and no longer use IPLV, rather IEER. New HVAC units are rated in IEER not IPLV so it no longer aligns with the CPG or LEED. There is an interesting comparison at http://www.cee1.org/com/hecac/Prog_Guidance_IEER.pdf
