EBOM-2009 SSc4:Alternative Commuting Transportation

Compressed workweek

If a significant number of employees at our facility are on a compressed workweek schedule, and we can verify these numbers from HR, do we still need to do a survey? Would this count as participation in a commute reduction program? The example detailed in the reference guide (Table 4) makes it seem that we could get points based on a compressed workweek program. Thank you.

Interesting question Jessica - I can certainly imagine a situation where if the ONLY trips you wanted to account for were those eliminated by a compressed workweek then you could document that without a survey under a 'special circumstances' type compliance path. I think a reviewer would very much want to see some kind of documentation verifying that employees actually adhere to the CWW schedule (and I'm honestly not completely sure what form that documentation would take) but it seems logical to me. Certainly you can get points based on CWW - 4 10 hour days eliminates a commute relative to 5 8 hour days by any measure. Dan
