We recently received comments on our initial design review submission. On one of our credits, it was recommended by the reviewer that we defer the credit to the construction phase so that we can collect the remaining required documentation. My question is, how do we defer the credit at this point in the process? We are using LEED Online v2. Thank you in advance for any guidance you can provide!
You rely on LEEDuser. Can we rely on you?
LEEDuser is supported by our premium members, not by advertisers.
Go into the credit and under "Claim of Credit Status," there will be a button that you can chose YES or NO to the question "Defer until Construction Phase?"
Hope that helps.
Valerie,
Thanks for the quick response. I've used that method to defer credits before the initial design submission, but it doesn't appear as an option at this point. The Claim of Credit Status is "Attempted" - Do I need to unattempt and re-attempt the credit in order to defer?
Oh, that is weird. I didn't realize they locked it down like that once design review was complete. I would try unattempting and then reattempting.
Looking for an update - was it confirmed that this works? Is it unattempted, and then for the Construction submittal it is reattempted? Do you lose all the info you already typed into the template?
We were afraid to lose everything in the template, so we did not unattempt and reattempt. Instead we have simply written in the narrative space that we plan to defer the credit to the construction phase. I spoke to someone we work with who does LEED reviews and was told this is a strategy they have seen in the past. We haven't actually completed our final design review so I can't say for sure that it works.
The information should still be in the template once you have unattempted it and then reattempted it. We have done this before and it has still be there.
The other option is to save the template to your desktop, work on it, and then you can reupload it during the construction review.
I would also contact GBCI on this since you should be able to defer it. If not they will be able to administratively do this. I
