Paint Stripper?

I have a contractor submittal asking if paint stripper/ remover should be included in this credit and I'm not sure how to answer. In reviewing the credit requirements and SCAQMD #1113, I don't see anything that resembles paint stripper, but it is a chemical being applied inside the weatherproofing system (in this case, historic door frames are being refurbished in place) so I'm wondering if we need to include it. Has anyone ever run into this issue?

Hi Ellen, paint stripper falls outside of this credit, which is unfortunate because those chemicals are usually pretty nasty. You should work with your contractor to make sure that the work complies with your IAQ management plan for credit EQc3.1.

Thanks Mara - that was what I thought, but I am glad to have some confirmation.
