EBOM-2009 IEQp1:Minimum IAQ Performance

Related to 62Mz Calc

On the requirements of this prerequisite it says " Each air-handler must be measured; sampling or grouping of air-handlers is prohibited"; If I have three AHU's working for the same zone how can I calculate each one? I have only one area and a number of people for the zone. Is there a way to calculate each one? Help! Thanks in advance.

You could assign a sub-portion of the zone (space and people) to each AHU and run the calculations that way. The apportioned spaces to each AHU can be based on what makes the most sense given the system design.

And if I have several AHUs that are back-up, do I need to make the calculations also?

It sounds like you need to determine what the worst-case scenario is for ventilation in the applicable space and then run the calculations and outside air testing accordingly. If the back-up AHUs run during the worst case scenario then they should be included. The worst case scenario is generally highest occupancy during typical operations and lowest amount of outside air to the space. This often occurs during heating season but that is not always the case.
