EBOM-2009 IEQp1:Minimum IAQ Performance

Does 62MZ calculations needed?

I am working with a facility to determine if they can meet the prerequisite for the LEED EBOM. Currently the facility has 12 AHU's, some of them working for the same single space. Currently the facility has a BAS System 1. If I have the BAS system, is it necessary the 62MZ Calculations. 2. We also have done commisoning tests that demonstrates compliance with ASHRAE 62.1-2007 requirements for up to 10 cfm's of OA per person, With that said, which are my options on how to proceed with this prerequisite? Thank you.

Even if you have a BAS you still need to demonstrate compliance by either: Filling out the 62MZ calculations or by doing air flow testing showing you have 10 CFM of OSA per occupant. If you can demonstrate/describe why the physical constraints of the existing ventilation system cannot meet ASHRAE 62.1 then you can submit proof that each ventilation system will provide 10 cfm/person during all occupied hours.

Thanks Dylan, this helps. I have another question, If a have a zone where there's three AHU's, can I calculate all of them in one 62MZ Calc excell sheet? or do I need to calculate individually?

Dorilee, I've found the 62MZ Calc form to work best on Multi-Zone systems. You will need to create separate 62MZ Calc Forms for each system.
