I agree strongly with the attached document. "Bio-based" alone does not guarantee any environmental benefit. LEED Interpretations or future addenda can adjust the Certified Wood credit (if it is kept) to incorporate other TRULY SUSTAINABLE wood certification vehicles, if they arise (I am assuming there is a concern that FSC should not be the only 3rd-party allowed). These proposed changes certainly seem to weaken the protection of our forests and could have devastating consequences.
