I know this is probably the most basic of questions, so please bear with me.
I am trying to figure out the application of points for PC1 and if it is an ACP for the MR credits listed above or if the points are applied to Innovation Category.
I am a bit confused because according to the LEED point calculator a project can earn a maximum of 5 points + 2 points for exemplary performance. So does this mean that the project would score 5 points under the MR category and 2 points for exemplary performance under Innovation? Also would this then mean, I would be unable to earn points for MR credit 1.1,4,5?

My assumption (and emphasis is on assumption) is that the pilot credits are worth 1 point to projects achieving the pilot credit as written. So even though your project 'earns' 4 points on the LCA calculator, you only can add 1 point to the project checklist. You submit the LCA work sheets to the GBCI for review and confirmation. How the USGBC changes the credit weightings in the future can only be glimpsed in the draft releases of LEED 2012. Currently, projects can not earn multiple points in ID for the same work. In other words, you don't get 2 points in MR 4 by having 60% recycled content. I'm not sure what your question is about not being able to earn other MR credits.

Thanks for the reply Susan. Yea I was thinking the same way as well. I was just wondering how this credit would relate to achievable points for MRc1,4,5 as the language in the PCL says it is "Proposed as 5 post-pilot
base points reallocated from MR Credit 1.1, MR Credit 4, and MR Credit 5."

Susan and Nathan, you are correct, the pilot credit is worth 1 point, but we want to know how many points your project would earn on a larger point scale, to better assess the credit.
When LEED 2012 2nd Public Comment launches, we will be posting several new MR pilot credit versions, which should hopefully provide some clarity on how MR points will be distributed in 2012.
