Hi everyone,
i am wondering if the interior lighting power is also restricted by LEED. Do we have to show compliance with the table 9.5.1 or 9.6.1 in ASHRAE? Or do we only use the tables for the simulation of the baseline?
I understand that we only have to show compliance with 9.4 so the inside LPDs are not part of it.
many thanks in advance

Hi Tatjana
You are right, you do not have to show compliance with those tables. However, it is highly recommendable to maintain those LPD, since the baseline case at the energy simulation is based on these LPDs, and your project will be compared against that criteria. I transcribe an excerpt of ASHRAE 90.1-2007 appendix G, for the lighting section for the baseline case: "Lighting power in the baseline building design shall be determined using the same categorization procedure (building area or space function) and categories as the proposed design with lighting power set equal to the maximum allowed for the corresponding method and category in Section 9.2." Hope it helps.
