Discuss the importance of mold prevention and IAQ management with the project team and operations staff. Efficient coordination between the project team and the operations staff is ideal, when planning ongoing IAQ management. When determining the probability of achieving IEQc10 discuss the following items.
All three of the following credits must be achieved before your project can achieve IEQc10. None of them is particularly hard, or presents major obstacles.
- IEQc3.1: Construction IAQ Management Plan—During Construction. This credit relies on the general contractor to follow SMACNCA guidelines that require protection of HVAC and good housekeeping during construction.
- IEQc7.1: Thermal Comfort—Design. This credit requires projects to meet ASHRAE 55, which is easily achievable as long as all portions of the building have heating and cooling, and where applicable, provide dehumidification.
- IEQc7.2: Thermal Comfort—Verification. This credit requires the school to implement a survey to building occupants (including students grades 6 and above) on their satisfaction with thermal comfort.
