The CxA develops a systems manual for the commissioned systems in collaboration with the facilities management—carrying the design intent into building operations. Before occupancy, the CxA verifies the facilities staff is trained to operate the building systems as intended by the designer. CxA is the only person who has attended design meetings and is continuing their contract into operations to communicate how the controls work and the strategies identified to save energy. For example, if the designer and owner have agreed on a specific heating set point that needs to be communicated to the operator. The CxA also reviews all equipment warranties and verifies that all requirements to keep the warranty valid are clearly stated.
