Most residential HVAC systems are not performing properly, many as a direct result of improper design or startup. This can impact the durability of the equipment, as well as decrease the efficiency by up to 30% or more.
Credit Submittals
General
- Register for Pilot Credit(s) LEEDuser.com, and participate in online forum
- Submit the feedback survey using the link on the USGBC.org credit page; supply PDF of your survey/confirmation of completion with credit documentation
Credit Specific
Supporting Verification made available by the Project Team:
- Submit completed ENERGY STAR v3 HVAC System Quality Installation Contractor Checklist for each residential HVAC system from a qualified individual who is not associated with the installation contractor.
Additional Questions
- Did the 3rd party find any differences in the start up from the installation contractor? If so, what did they find?
- Can you estimate the increased efficiency of the equipment as a result of the 3rd party commissioning? If so, what was the efficiency change?
- Can you list any additional improvements to the longevity of the system as a result of the 3rd party commissioning? If so, what?
