This credit mandates construction management “best practices” that should be standard practice for design and construction teams. For teams that have integrated these practices, there should be negligible construction cost premium.

Even if the dust, odor, and contaminant control practices required for compliance under this credit during construction are not standard procedures for the contractor, there should be little added cost to adopt them. When you also consider the need to protect installed materials during construction, this credit is less of an added burden and more like liability protection.
