FSC Mixed vs FSC Recycle on Invoices?

NC-2009 MRc7:Certified Wood
posted by  John Casciato  on

If my invoice says FSC Mixed for an MDF order, even tough MDF is a recycle product by design, would that go towards MRc4 instead of MRc7 even if the invoice says FSC Mixed?

Invoice for Wood in Assembly (Display Boards)

NC-2009 MRc7:Certified Wood

I've had some major difficulty with documentation for Certified Wood due to small amounts of wood in assemblies, specifically the backing on markerboards/tackboards.

COC Certification Required for GC...?

NC-2009 MRc7:Certified Wood
posted by  Adrienne Lynn  on

We are a General Contractor and we are wondering if we, ourselves, would be required to get COC Certified when attempting to achieve MRc7? We purchase FSC plywood, dimensional lumber, etc.

FSC Certifier

This may be nit-picking and I don't see any place for this information in the submittals, but the manual states that the COC certification must be provided by an FSC-accredited certifier.

I have a major window supplier that is providing us FSC certified wood windows. They are charging us a $9,500 fee above and beyond the typical window cost for "FSC paperwork".

Credit for Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certified wood?

NC-2009 MRc7:Certified Wood

Past CIRs indicate LEED does not recognize SFI as an alternative to the FSC certification requirement. But does anyone have up-to-date information on this?

How does one account for FSC materials in millwork? The vendor has a list of dozens of millwork components.

COC certificates- what should I be looking for?

NC-2009 MRc7:Certified Wood

For COC certificates, what should I be looking for? It's crazy that I have done many LEED projects but none of them have gone after MRc7, so here I am. I am currently working on an NC project that
