ASHRAE 55, patient rooms, and metabolic rates

Our HVAC engineer indicated that ASHRAE 55 cannot be met on a healthcare project because it is not applicable for metabolic rates below 1.0.  Isolation room and ICU patients could be sleeping

I have not found any addenda or erratas that updates the Reference Standard ASHRAE 55-2010 for this Credit to its most current version.
