Can someone explain to me what are Division 1 general requirements of the project specifications?
Here are some extracts I can read:
Consider how CW M plan requirements, or the requirement to write a plan, can be included in
specification documents under Division 1, General Requirements.
Include performance requirements or sole-source compliant products as applicable to the selected
option(s) in the project specifications. To ensure compliant purchases, consider creating a Division 1,
General Requirements, specification for sustainability criteria that meet MR requirements. Reference
that section to distinguish it from other sections that cover products and materials.

Hi Ayman, Division 1 refers to the first section of construction specifications using CSI MasterFormat. If you're not familiar with it, I'm guessing MasterFormat is not commonly used where you're working - it is a U.S. standard.
Basically what this is saying is, it is recommended to include sustainable material requirements in a single document that you can refer back to, so you are not having to repeat the requirements for every individual material. MasterFormat has a specification numbered 01 8113 that says things like "provide materials with recycled content, provide EPDs, low-emitting certificates, etc," and then individual material specifications say "this material must follow sustainability requirements in 01 8113." LEED does not require you to use MasterFormat, just consider including a general document like that in whatever format you do use.
