NC-v4 WEp2:Indoor water use reduction

WE Indoor water use reduction - Detention facility requirements

We are currently working on 2 small detention facilities (25 beds and 60 beds). Both projects are new construction and are not Retail, school, or hospitality projects. Only residential dishwashers are mentioned in the guidebook for all other types of projects. We will be utilizing commercial dishwashers. Do those have to meet the requirements under Table 4 for commercial dishwashers in a residential type scenario?

Hi Lawrence, Yes, these dishwashers must meet the requirement under table 4.
As LEED states on page 271, commercial projects with non-commercial, standard-sized dishwashers must comply with the residential dishwasher requirements.  Best regard – Afogreen Build Team

I am not sure that the text cited above applies here. The project is using a commercial system, and the text addresses commercial projects using non-commercial systems. Indeed, the Ref Guide does not seem to address commercial dishwashers, specifically. My guess is that the rates listed for the other projects types would likely be the expectation; I would email LEED Coach with the question for clarity.
