Hi folks: posted this to an older conversation but thought a new question might get it more looks.
Currently reviewing a gypsum sheathing product that is inside the moisture barrier of a project and wondering if it needs to meet emissions testing / CDPH for the "ceilings, walls, thermal & acoustic insulation" category in V4. I am aware that sheathing is shown inside the barrier in the wall diagrams in the ref guide so it would be considered "interior".
However the "wall component" examples and Table 5 in the guide surprisingly make no mention of sheathing and seem very focused on exposed and interior-facing surfaces. It's easy to find GG Gold gyp wallboard, a lot harder to find GG Gold gyp sheathing from what I'm finding. I also noticed in v4.1 they've changed to wall panels and are including only things that would be exposed to the interior which makes me wonder about v4's intent.
Any help or experience with gypsum sheathing and low-emitting compliance?
Thanks,
Tom

Tom - great question. I've only a seen one exterior gypsum board product (an exterior soffit board from Certainteed) that has a GreenGuard certification. It's possible that manufacturers may have information on CDPH compliance for other exterior gypsum board that's not published on their websites, so it's worth contacting them directly.
But since the 4.1 language says "wall panels product category includes all finish wall treatments (wall coverings, wall paneling, wall tile), surface wall structures such as gypsum or plaster, cubicle/curtain/partition walls, trim, interior and exterior doors, wall frames, interior and exterior windows, and window treatments." I think we should stick to that list.
