Hi, sorry for being late. European Decopaint Directive does not subtract exempt VOCs from total VOC content. Therefore there is no need to disclose exempt VOCs along with showing EU Decopaint compliance. This need was established to make sure that if somebody in the US formulates a product only with exempt VOCs (e.g. acetone), even though the product still is compliant, the user should know that such VOCs are present and then decide one selection of the product on an informed basis. Reinhard, do you know if a paint complies with EU Decopaint it is immediatly approved for Low emitting materials credit reggarding VOC emissions? Or is there any other certification (such as Ec1plus) needed? Regarding New Construction projects. Thank you

Ines, Sorry, no. EU Decopaint just covers the VOC content issue in Europe. The general emissions criteria come on top of the VOC content requirements. EC1 PLUS is one option if the product can have an EMICODE.
