Dear All
We used prescriptive option on Minimum Energy Performance, so looking to calculate out energy use via U.S. Department of Energy’s Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) database. Using the manual, it shows I need a data for my building type (an office), but I cannot seem to find it on their website. Where should I be looking please?
TIA. Karen.

Hi marcus,
In my case, the retail shop in a mall is cooled by district cooling system and for other sources we are using mall supplied electricity as a energy source. Can i use below data for total carbon offset calculation for complete shop..?? The data has been extracted from above link you shared..
Energy sources Major fuel energy intensity1
(More than 1 may apply) (thousand Btu/square foot in buildings using any major fuel for the end use)
Electricity 82
District Chilled Water 144.4

I don't think so. Carbon offsets do not apply to electricity, that is green power. Since you are only getting chilled water for cooling I would use a value from the cooling column for that. I would also look to the section of the report that deals with principle building activity as enclosed malls are covered there. The energy sources table covers all building types so is likely to be skewed and less specific.
