NC-2009 WEc3:Water Use Reduction

Urinals on residencial

I m working on a dormitory for kids. On the project we have bathrooms that only will be used by the kids (I am considering them as residencial), and other restrooms that will only be used for the visits (I am considering them as public). On the bathrooms for kids there will be some urinals. If I use Water Use reduction calculator and I classify the bathrooms for kids as residencial, the uses per day of the urinal is 0. Do you know if I can change this?

When residential is selected the calculator assumes that urinals are not installed/utilized. The total daily uses could be modified in the calculator rather than using the default. Be sure to provide a narrative explaining the modification. However, note that the Additional Water Use Guidance document states that for dual-flush toilets, residential projects must use a 1:2 ratio in terms of number of full-flush to low-flush uses per day (which follows the same 3 daily use methodology for FTE occupants).
