University building - visitors/students

For a university building where the majority of the students walk, is it realistic to project a 30-40% diversion rate?  Is this a correct use of this credit intent?

It depends on the number of students vs regular building occupants, but if most students walk and they're the majority of building users, you can probably anticipate a higher alternative transit rate than that. I recommend downloading the USGBC calculator and playing around with the inputs - it'll let you get a feel for how the commuting habits typical for your building will play out in the calculation.
