Regarding Ref Guide (p.291) in tree-lined step-by-step guidance, it says the distance between tree truck to the center of the next tree trunk shouldn't exceed than 50 feet (12 meters). From my understanding 50 feet should be 15 meters right?
Same as Example 1 (p.294) is based on 15 meters maximum in calculation table while it says "No interval between exceeds 50 feet (12 meters)".
I also noticed that CHANGES FROM LEED 2009 it says "In option 1, the tree spacing requirement has been changed from an average 40-feet (12 meters) to a maximum 50-feet (15 meters) interval.
There are many conflicts in Ref Guide. I would like to know which one is a correct number. Would you please declare this issue?
Thank you.

Nuttanee, you are correct about 50 feet equaling 15 meters, not 12 meters. Unfortunately, there are several conversion errors in the v4 Reference Guide, so it's best to always check a conversion. The Guide's content was originally written in Imperial units and the SI conversions were added later, so when you find an inconsistency you should use a corrected conversion from the IP value.

I'm a registered landscape architect that needs to write a qualifying determination for "Tree-lined and shaded streetscapes" for a master plan project. Is there a certain format I need to follow or can I just do an assessment in my own words of the plan's landscape guidelines in my determination?

Joaquin, it's best to simply quote or paraphrase the credit requirement language, e.g. you have "determined that planting details are appropriate to growing healthy trees based on the selected species, root medium, and width and soil of planting areas, and the selected species are not considered invasive by [cite name of responsible national or state/provincial agricultural agency]."
