Hi all,
I'm a little confused about which "Roof Area" to use in the equation for this credit. In the credit requirements, the right side of the equation is Total Site Paving Area + Total Roof Area. However, in the two examples given in the Further Explanation section, the roof area used is the Total Applicable Roof Area, which is Total Roof Area minus the area of any equipment and appurtenances. Thus, I would like to confirm which is the roof area that I should use on the right side of the equation: the Total Roof Area or the Total Applicable Roof Area?
For example, if my roof area is 10000 m2 and I have 1000 m2 of solar panels, should I use 10000 m2 on the right side of the equation or 9000 m2?
Thank you so much!

I agree that the wording is confusing, although I hadn’t seen it that way before, but now that you say it. But it is the Applicable roof area that you insert in the Total roof area. You want to know how much roof is compliant compared to the whole roof excluding solar panels and skylights and vent-hoods etc. 9000 m2 is what you use in your example. I have never had any comments on that in reviews.

Hi everyone,
I am with a doubt about SSc5. I am working on a project that has the building's rooftop which is partially used as a technical pavement for HVAC units and part as an outdoor area for leisure time. All parking spots are undercover so project team decided to target option 2 of this credit. But since rooftop part that is usable is considered hardscape and the part that is destined for equipment is exempt from complying, its confusing wether index should be used SRI 39 for rooftop over parking areas or SR 0,33 for hardscape for nonroof measures? Thank you.

Andrea, I can't picture your project layout...is the parking that is under cover directly under the roof area that you're asking about? If yes, then you'd use the SRI 39. If the roof area has occupied space under it (normal building), then it'd be the 33.
