EBOM-2009 PIf3:Occupant and Usage Data

Is there a occupancy % under 100% that is still considered 100%?

In our attempt to fill out PI form 3 we are recognizing that completing the form to note every time within 5 years that the 800,000 s.f. building was not 100% occupied (and the start and stop dates of each) is cumbersome. Is there any percentage of vacancy less than 100%, or any length of time (3 months while a space is begin built out for example) that we do not have to document? Thank you. Blair

Hi Blair, The big cutoff point is 90% occupancy, because that’s when the Reduced Occupancy Guidance comes into play (see http://www.usgbc.org/resources/ebom-reduced-occupancy-guidance). I recommend tracking larger changes in occupancy (for example when a tenant moves in or out), but wouldn’t be too concerned with normal staff turnover of a few people coming or going.
