I am working on a high-rise residential building with VRF. The building envelope is heavily glass, so the owner has decided to also install a hydronic heating system at the building perimeter. However, there was a glitch, and it turns out that the VRF and hydronic systems are both sized to meet the full load, rather than being complimentary. It seems there will be separate thermostats for each system that will not communicate (aside from reacting to space temp). I told the owner that adding the second system may kill the model and disqualify the building for LEED. Is there a way to model this that won't really hurt me?
