I am evaluating a non-flat coating used to "paint" on a dry erase surface for a training room. It exceeds the VOC limit of a non-flat coating, however the quantity is small enough to be offset through a budget. Before we go through that process, I wanted to ask whether there was a more appropriate category for this coating with a higher limit. Does anyone have experience with this type of coating?

Tiffany, I haven't used this kind of product myself, but it's been the subject of several discussions across different rating systems on LEED User. (You can do a search for dry erase paint and come up with a lot of items.) I think most people are considering this to be a graphic arts coating. I've also heard that this product is compliant - http://www.eezecleandryerase.com/.
I've seen a few of these products perform poorly over time. Given the very small quantity used you may want performance to be the first priority, with emissions second. Good luck.
