NC-v4 EQp2:Environmental tobacco smoke control

Smoking Area at level 2

Hello all,

One of out project is pursuing LEED BD+C for new construction. The building has a open garden at level 2. Is it allowed for us to provide a designated smoking area there provided that area (not at Ground Floor) which is at least 7.5m away from any openings, freshair intakes to the building. Thanks in advance.

Dear Wah Wah, In submittal tips, there is statement of “If there are smoking areas on terraces, patios, rooftops, and balconies, ensure that they are located 25 feet (7.5 meters), horizontally and vertically, from entries, outdoor air intakes, and operable windows.” So it should be 7.5m distance horizontally and vertically as well.
