Residential units in the project have doors facing the corridors which in completely inside of the building as they are in a high-rise tower.
The guide says "Weather-strip all doors in the residential units leading to common hallways to minimize air leakage into the hallway", but it is not a common practice to use weather strips for interior doors. Instead, as the doors are fire rated, fire/smoke seal are provided around the doors and auto-door bottom are at the bottom of the doors to seal for acoustic purpose.
As the purpose of "weather-strip" for this credit is not for "weather" but for to completely seal around the doors, I think smoke/fire seal (gasket) and auto-door bottom do have the same function.
I would like to seek you opinion and would like to see if any of you had the same conditions and accepted with fire/smoke seal by the USGBC reviewer.
Thank you,

Hi Yuko! Wonder how this problem got sort out? We encounter the same problem as well so would like to if acoustic seal can demonstrate compliance as an alternative for weather strip?
