NC-2009 SSc4.2: Alternative Transportation—Bicycle Storage and Changing Rooms
Hi,
Showers and Changing Rooms of my project are located into the basement, dedicated to parking and circuation, with acess from outdoor.
We have no space to provide toilettes close to changing rooms.
The question is: in order to achieve this credit is it necessary to provide toilette close to Showers and Changing rooms?

Does LEED have any requirements on spacing or the type of bike racks used? What about security?
Are there specific requirements for the changing rooms, such as size?
Do bike racks have to be within the LEED project boundary?
Is a general storage room that is accessible to residents acceptable for covered bike storage?
Do I round up or down? What if the calculations show that I need 0.5 showers?

Since the credit only addresses showers, we are not required to include toilets in the changing room. If it’s possible to locate the showers on a different level, or include a toilet near the changing room your users will probably be much happier in the long run!
