I am wondering if edging profiles (like Schluter systems let's say) as well as wall base caps and moldings (like Tarkett finishing accessories) need to be tracked for the Flooring Category. In this case, we would not be able to track areas, it would be more of lenghts. But before asking this type of information to the contractor, I want to make sure it actually needs tracking, or if it can be excluded from the calculations. Anyone has had any experience with this ? Thank you!

The current version of v4.1 (April 2023 addenda) does require "transition strips/stair nosing" but previous versions did not. So if your project was registered earlier, you can use a version that didn't require tracking these.
The walls section requires "trim," I'm not sure if this is the case in all versions of 4.1, but in the current one at least it is considered wall, not flooring.

Hi Emily, thank you for your reply. I did see the v4.1 update for transition strips and stair nosings, which are the building components that resemble the most what I'm talking about. It's still not clear though if edging profiles that would be used to transition a ceramic floor and a resilient floor have to be calculated. I will exclude them from calculations and post back here once I receive final review comments.
