Hello everybody,
I'm currently working on an building extension project where the main entrance of the existing building is located in front of a street (the area in front of the entrance is outside the property), while the extension doesn't have any public entrances; that being said, it is not possible to locate the short term bike storage within 30 meters to the main entrance.
Would it be possible to locate the storage at the closest distance possible to the main entrance even if this it is greater than 30 m? Or to locate it in the basement floor nearby a functional entrance?
Thank you!

Hi,
It doesn't look like there is any flexibility to this credit regarding short term storage, however for long term storage you could locate your bike parking within 30 meters of a functional entrance, and not just the main entrance.
Where is your project boundary? If you have a "main" entrance on your new construction portion, I think you should count that, and not the main entrance on the existing building. Stick to whatever doors are within the LEED Boundary. Does this help? Make sure you write a thorough narrative describing this.
Buona fortuna...
