We have a project where there for example lighting fittings, some doors etc. that would be possible to reuse at other in other buildings.
Since this items sometimes might be given away to private Citizens and could be hard to document. How should we handle this?
We would say that this is the best type of recyling - direct reuse.

Maria - I agree that reuse is a great way to keep materials out of the landfill. I would create a spreadsheet for backup that documents materials that are given away to individuals and include the date, material description, its estimated weight or volume, and the person's name, address, and telephone number. Or you could also create fill-in-the blank letters to have the individual complete his/her contact information and reused material(s), and then sign/date when they get the material(s) from the project.
