I would like to clarify the LEED V2009 requirement for Showers and Changing Rooms.
Question: Does LEED stipulate at all to provide a separate changing room from the shower compartment?
Background. We have two staff toilets (one for male and one for female). We added a shower compartment (fully enclosed)-- with a shower base and a dry area which totals to almost two meters in length. Fixtures such as hooks are provided to hang towels and/or clothes.
I was told that I should still provide a closet to classify the whole space (where the toilet and sink are) as a changing area. I am challenging that because I believe the closet is unnecessary and that the Shower compartment is enough for the LEED intent.
Can anyone please help me? Can someone clarify/confirm this or point me to a document whether the separation is necessary?
Thank you!

Hi Trina,
Who told you to do that? My understanding is they do not require the changing room to be separate from the shower area. This is also discussed in the LEED CI-2009 SSc3.2 forum where it is confirmed you do not need separate rooms for the two.
