Hi LEED experts, My interior office project is planning to buy secondhand furniture. Can we consider secondhand furniture reused/salvaged furniture, and therefore automatically meet the requirement without any VOC testing/certificates? Thanks for your advice.

Correct; the Credit excludes Salvaged and reused materials, provided "Product is more than one year old at the time of use. If finishes are applied to the product on-site, the finishes must meet the VOC emissions evaluation AND VOC content evaluation requirements."

Thanks for your advice. I would like to ask if the project applied coatings/finishing on secondhand furniture, but those coatings don't meet VOC requirements of LEED, then will those unqualified coatings affect the category of furniture? can we still count the category of furniture for this credit? My understanding is that LEED allows us to choose categories seperately. So I can basically choose furniture and drop coating category right?
