We are certifying a small retail store that is almost 5 percent of the total building area. The retail store shares a chilled water plant with the rest of the building. Do I have to model the entire building to estimate the amount of energy that need to be generated by the renewable source? If this is the case, how can I calculate the apportionment of the common areas and the energy related to the HVAC system just in the small retail?

If the building in which the project is located has installed photovoltaic panels that feed the common chilled water plant, it`s acceptable for the credit requeriments that we apportion the power consumption of the chilled water plant based on flow and water temperature meter that are installed at the entrance of each space in order to determine the power HVAC consumption of each space?
