I need to know if I have to apply interior cross-contamination prevention on a kitchen and a restaurant at my NC office building or not?

Hi all,
Yes, interior cross-contamination prevention shall be applied in kitchen, restaurant, locker room, kitchenette, toilets (if the mechanical and mix-mode ventilation system is used). As stated on LEED v4 guide page 646, it is required to sufficiently exhaust each space where hazardous gases or chemicals may be present or used, to create negative pressure with respect to adjacent spaces when the doors to the room are closed.
The minimum exhaust rate required for these spaces are follows:
- kitchen-commercial = 0.70 cfm/ft2
- kitchenette = 0.30 cfm/ft2
- locker room = 0.50 cfm/ft2
- private toilet = 25/50 cfm/unit
- public toilet = 50/70 cfm/unit
Exhaust rates for these spaces must be maintained at all times, even when the building is not occupied. Please refer to ASHRAE 62.1–2010, Table 6-4, for lists exhaust rate of numerous spaces.
