Hi everyone,
We are currently trying to certify a residential project and during the final preliminary review, it was noted that we have a laundry room with spaces for clothes washers. Is it mandatory that we provide residential clothes washers for the units? The reviewer commented that we should provide the manufacturer's documentation for the washers. I understand that if the final owner of the unit will be responsible for the washer, we can't claim any savings. Since we are not claiming any savings for clothes washers we shouldn't have to provide manufacturer documents, or am I wrong? I'm confused as to whether we can indicate that the washers are out of the scope of what the developer will install, or will lead to getting the prerequisite denied.

If the washer / dryer are to be provided by the owner of the unit and not the developer / owner of the building, then it is outside the scope of the project and thus excluded from the LEED prerequisite.
