FAQs about EQp1 :

We have a VAV system where single AHUs serve multiple zones. Do we need to take outside air measurements at each VAV box?

Our building has a single fan that supplies outside air to multiple AHUs. Do we need to perform outside air testing at the supply fan or at all AHUs?

What if our systems do not meet the required outside air when systems are tested at worst-case conditions?

What if after our Preliminary Review we have to revise the ventilation rate procedure calculations and find that we need to make corrections to the system in order to meet the prerequisite? Can we redo the outside air testing after making corrections? Wou

My building has 80 AHUs providing ventilation to building spaces. Do I have to do the ventilation calculations and conduct outdoor air measurements for each one?

Our system cannot provide enough outdoor air to meet ASHRAE 62.1-2010 due to design limitations. How much outdoor air must we provide to meet Case 2 instead?

The outdoor air intake for our ventilation system is not accessible, and it’s not possible to measure the outdoor airflow directly. How can we determine the outdoor airflow for this system?

How do I find whether my project is located in a non-attainment area for particulate matter or exceeds the prerequisite ozone requirements?

What happened to the IEQ Space Matrix that was available to version 2009 projects? What should I reference to determine how spaces in my building should be categorized for this prerequisite?

EBOM-v4 EQp1:Minimum indoor air quality performance

Requirement for mechanically-ventilated spaces and Water cooling systems in sheds

Dear all,

Hope you are doing well.

This is the first time I am working on existing factory, so I have couple question which I am not sure these questions belong to which credit/ prerequisite. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The questions are:

1. Do LEED requires all buildings must have fully mechanically-ventilated spaces (except for toilet blocks)?

2. Water cooling systems in sheds with 50m+ dimension do not comply with LEED. Is it correct?

3. The project have 12 buildings, but owner just want to do LEED EBOM for 2 buildings among 12. Is it possible to get LEED only for these 2 buildings?

Thank you for your time and support.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Hanh, I hope this helps: 1. In v4, all projects need to be mechanically ventilated, even when they have operable windows. 2. If your factory has a water cooling system housed in a separate building (shed), this building will probably count as "not certifiable", since there will be zero FTE users. It doesn't mean that you cannot certify other buildings in the factory campus. 3. Of course, you can certify only 2 of them.
