Hi
To caluclate the Rc-value we need to know the amount of refrigerant and the cooliing capacity. As LEED v4 puts it:
Rc: Refrigerant Charge
(0.065 to 0.65 kg of refrigerant per kW of AHRI rated or Eurovent Certified cooling capacity)
Does this mean that the Rc value always must be between 0.065 and 0.65 kg/kW? For our cooling system we are using ammonia, which will have a Rc value of only 0.046 kg/kW, but all our larger refrigerator have an Rc value ranging between 0.95-2.1 kg/kW.
Does this mean that none of our refrigerants meets the requirements?

Anyone with any inputs in regards to to the RC value? Must it range between 0.065-0.65 kg/kW, or does it "just" have to meet the Refrigerant Calcualtion?

Hi Lise, the credit calculation is an average across all refrigerant-containing equipment. The overall credit outcome will depend on the mix of equipment in your project.

I have the same question. Could you gave us an answer? Did you get an answer Lise? Thanks.
