Are vertical brises on facades considered obstructions?

The Credit language says "...must provide a clear image of the exterior, not obstructed by frits, fibers, patterned glazing, or added tints that distort color balance." So, brise soleil elements are excluded. However, I think it would depend on the spacing between the vertical brise elements, their angle to the glazing surface, etc.
