So how should one pursue the prescriptive method for this prerequisite? In the sample form, it says to provide documentation demonstrating compliance with ASHRAE 90.1-2016, Sections 5 though 9. What documentations are they referrring to, normally in previous LEED versions of this credit (i.e. v2009 and v4), there would be a LEED calculator provided.
I'm thinking of switching the version of this prerequiste from v4 to v4.1

Here is the calculator to demonstrate compliance.

The calculator is for the performance method, I was asking if there is any calculator or table for the prescriptive method that's provided by LEED. In LEED v4, we can use the AEDG table for prescriptive.

ASHRAE provides comliance forms that are often used for code compliance purposes. You could use those. They are included with the 90.1-2016 User's Manual or you can find them online here - https://www.ashrae.org/technical-resources/standards-and-guidelines/pcs-...

Hi Marcus,
The ASHRAE compliance form does not address the LPD. Should we assume that complying with Section 9.4 (mandatory provisions) is sufficient and that meeting Table 9.5.1 or 9.6.1 is not required?

Compliance with tables 9.5.1 and 9.6.1 is the prescriptive measure. You are not required to comply but your baseline energy model does need to include these values. You can exceed them but it will addversely affect your energy savings.

Hi Marcus, thank you for your reply.
I agree that compliance is not necessary, but as you rightly mentioned, it led to an unfavorable energy outcome. The challenge is largely due to the project's nature as a high-end luxury retail store, where our recommendation to limit lighting reached a point of compromise. I could not find viable alternatives, but I would appreciate any suggestions for an optimal solution, if there is any.

What this demonstrates are conflicting values. Your client should reconcile what their actual values are. Why are they pursuing LEED certification?
