plywood "exempt from testing by CARB"

several products we got from different subs/ suppliers submitted us product cut sheets that indicate that plywood based product is "exempt from testing by CARB" and the sub or supplier also provided a general document from APA indicating a table of products that are exempt from meeting CARB such as APA rated plywood. Do I ONLY need to submit the APA document together with the statement from product mfgr saying their product is "exempt from testing by CARB"? Or do I still need to a statement from mfgr that product is NAUF? I've seen a lot of discussion about CARB below but nothing that asks this exact question. Maybe I overlooked it but can't seem to find this answer. Thank you, Debra

I am having the same issue on a project, and would also like to know the answer to this question. Were you able to determine if the CARB exempt products are acceptable?

I found info on APA site that any plywood stamped APA (rated) does not contain UF. See pg 2 (bottom left PP) of doc at https://www.portercorp.com/downloads/apaformaldehyde.pdf where it says: "which bear the trademark of the APA are phenol formaldehyde." Not sure about CARB.

I think this answers the CARB compliant question: ttps://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2015-10/documents/how_to_find_compliant_low_emission_products_508.pdf

Submitting just the APA J330b document and the products spec sheet that says product meets requirments did not pass my first review.    One can check CARBS mill list  https://ww2.arb.ca.gov/resources/documents/certified-mills-list-march-30-2021 but it's best to try and ask the mill to provide a copy of the approved NAF/ULEF application issued by CARB for the specific product used on the project.
