What is the allowable range of the Energy Star rating for the 12-month performance period? If ECMs are implemented during the performance period that bring the score up to 69+ at the end of the 12-month period, does this meet the requirements of EAp2?

I am under the impression that EAp2 requires an Energy Star Rating of at least 69 for the entire 12-month performance period - is that not true? As for EAc1, the Energy Star Rating must be 71 or higher for that 12-month performance period, correct?

Hi Jessica - in a nutshell, the score of at least 69 needs to be for the 12 month period ending during the LEED performance period. Your running score could fluctuate from one month to the next, but the one that matters is that score associated with the performance period end date. If your building's consumption is better towards the end of that 12 month period, the early months of lesser performance are still reflected in the score (dragging the score down a bit, in this example), so a running average isn't necessary.
If you need to implement ECMs to reach the minimum score, it is, of course, wise to do that as early in the 12 month performance period as possible, as the more of those 12 months of data that are post ECM execution, the better your score will likely be.
