We are pursuing IEQc4.5 from LEED-CI as an ID credit. Are we then required to include the cost of furniture in MRc3–7?

What building components are typically purchased with FSC content to earn this credit?

We’re having trouble getting FSC wood within our budget. Can we use products with another forestry certification?

Do I need to provide invoices for all of the new wood products purchased for the project, or just FSC wood products?

I have supporting manufacturer documentation for the FSC wood used on our project. Is this enough to document this credit, or do I need invoices as well?

Passing FSC credit to the End User

Our company is working to obtain FSC certification. This is new to us so I'm trying to figure how to pass along the credit percentage. We buy hardboard with a MIXED CREDIT (that's all it says on the invoice except for the COC#). We laminate cork or other materials and frame the panels for a finished product. I can calculate the hardboard percentage of the total product based on weight. Is that what's reported, or should our supplier of the hardboard show the percentages (I'm sure there are non-wood binders in the product)? - Thanks

Hi Bobby - FSC certified companies can make FSC Mix Credit or FSC Mix NN% claims, among other FSC claim types, but there is no such thing as a credit percentage claim. The type of output FSC claim your company makes depends on the type of FSC control system your company decides to use (transfer system, credit system, or percentage system). The three systems and associated output claim requirements are all outlined in the FSC Chain of Custody Standard. If you are just starting out, you may also find the FSC Chain of Custody 101 document useful in getting acquainted with FSC terms and how the COC standard is applied.
