NC-2009 EAc1:Optimize Energy Performance

Partial Existing Envelope

I'm performing an energy model that is a renovation of an existing structure. The existing structure has a sheet metal roof, two vertical sheet metal walls, and 4" concrete slab. Two of the vertical surfaces are open. Per Appendix G, can I model the existing envelope, a 90.1 Section 5 minimum envelope, or a combination of the two?

Sounds like the space was unconditioned in its existing situation. As such you would need to use the Section 5 minimum values for the baseline.
