In v2009 parking under the building counted as compliant for the parking section of the Heat Island Effect credit. In this version, it only says parking under a cover with high SRI or plants or PV-panels etc. Is it not enough to park under the building anymore? Regardless what the roof top ten stories above consists of? (This is the case in most of my projects).

Maria: USGBC has clarified for me on a similar project that the roof over parking that is under a building (as in your case) does not need to meet the SRI requirements to demonstrate compliance with Option 2.

Thank you Summer! That is what I thought, because the roof top is adressed in the first part of the credit, (which we might not go for in this case).
