NC-v4.1 LTc7:Reduced Parking Footprint

Parking Generation Manual 5th edition

In the addenda published on 7/25/2019, Transportation Planning Handbook is replaced with Parking Generation Manual, 5th edition, only in Further Explanation, Bullet 1 and Referenced Standards.

Is there any reason they did not collect Requirement and Step-by-Step Guidance?

We should see Parking Generation Manual, 5th edition to pursue Option 2, not Transportation Planning Handbook, 4th edition, is that right?

Hi Maki I did some (a lot of) research regarding this matter and in my opinion we should follow the ITE Transportation Planning Handbook, 4th edition. I may be wrong as I am not a transportation planner but Parking Generation Manual, 5th edition, does not contain any recommended parking ratios. Also please see the addenda table: https://www.usgbc.org/sites/default/files/2020-07/LEED%20BD%2BC%20v4.1%20Addenda%20Table%20-%201st%20edition_7-10-2020_0.pdf On the bottom of the table there is a sentence that "Shaded rows denote rating system changes". LTc Reduced Parking Footprint addenda is not shaded, so it doesn't change the rating system. The requirement remains: "Provide parking capacity that is a 30% reduction below the base ratios recommended by the Parking Consultants Council, as shown in the Institute of Transportation Engineers’ Transportation Planning Handbook, 4th edition, Table 11-12". Furthermore, I found the 4th edition of the Handbook on Google Books: https://books.google.pl/books?id=UhmrDAAAQBAJ&pg=PT33&hl=pl&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=3#v=onepage&q&f=false It is a preview only, but it is possible to access the table 11.6 Recommended Parking Ratios. If I see correctly the ratios for offices didn't change from 3rd edition, not sure about the rest. Hope this will be helpful!

Thank you Aleksandra! So far we used 5th edition for calculations in our recent projects, and there was no objection or anything from the reviewers.

HI Takayuki,
Do you perhaps have a copy of the relevant Table from the 5th edition of the manual?

I could not access table 11.6 on that link. How can I access it?
