According to the LEED guides the paper and cardboard are recycled separately. In the case of Europe they are not, they are recycled together and treat it in the corresponding center.
My question is:
Is it necessary to place 2 bins for paper and cardboard projects located in Europe?

Hi Helena,
For this prerequisite you need to make sure that all of the recyclable items listed in the Reference Guide are collected, but the actual approach should be tailored to the building. As long as both paper and cardboard are both collected in some way that's accessible to all building users, it's fine to mix them together as a single waste stream.
On the other hand, you may still want to consider a separate collection bin for cardboard if it will be generated at a much lower rate than paper, or if the cardboard would be bulky and take up too much room in the bin.
