Hi, our project is classify as Industrial-manufacturing facility. I am wondering about the good and bad consequences of include the backyard in the project boundary. The backyard area of our facility which is bigger than the operating building, is just grass and trees, such land is watered and mowed in spring and summer seasons. The operating building area is 86,517 sf and the backyard area is 137,541 sf. As we know, the USGBC fee for more than 50.000 sf is $0.04/sf, so can we earn the SSc5 point without including such huge area in the $/sf fee?
Thank you.

Hi Andres, the certification fee is based on your building's square footage and not the square footage of the site, so you won't receive a higher fee for including the backyard area. I would also add that if you're responsible for maintaining the backyard area it should likely be included with your application. Hope this helps!
